[Actually, this came out a lot better than I expected, although I didn't end up finishing the list.]

Of course, I haven't heard any of these albums, but your descriptions, however half-as*ed you claim they are, make many of them sound worth a listen. (Well, except for R.E.M. and Ben Folds; those I know I can do without.)

Head of Femur I already know I like, and I was already mildly interested in checking out Jesus H. Christ and the Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse on the basis of "Liz the Hot Receptionist" alone. You make them sound even more intriguing, and I am also in favor of their stupid name.

Hope to see part two soon so I have some more ideas on what to add to my list of cds to buy sometime this century.

Yay, you wrote something! And reminded me about Jesus H. Christ and the Four Hornsmen in the process. I listened to some of their stuff online awhile back and somehow lost the mental note I made to buy the album. (This is happening more and more as I get older and more distracted, sadly.)

Great to see that you could carve out a little time to share these review-lets with us. From this list, I'm only fully familiar with Way to Normal, but several of the other sound worth a listen or two.

Can't wait to see the rest of this list, and I hope we get more of these (allegedly) half-assed attempts soon.

I enjoyed this write-up quite a bit, particularly that Marnie Stern as cheerleader analogy. Even made me laugh out loud at how silly those cheerleader comparisons seem in other reviews.

Looking forward to the rest,

Hi.
Good to see another review so quick. This one was as usual eloquent and to the point. I like Brooke Fraser too.

It takes so much time and effort to write a good review....and that time is often much better invested elsewhere. I've lately been thinking much as you are (the kids are only little once).

Have fun,
