I was a little hesitant at first about completing a purchase through this website, if only because the rating at Yahoo! Shopping wasn't stellar (3.5 stars) and there were no reviews written here upon which to base an opinion. But the fact that the product I was out to purchase (accessories for a pair of Motorola Talkabouts I received for Christmas) was by far the lowest I could find anywhere (about 30% lower than the next-cheapest, in fact), I figured I'd brave uncharted territories.
Shortly after entering my credit card information on their secure server, I received a generic email confirming my purchase. However, the promised tracking information was nowhere to be seen. (Insert brief flicker of worry here.) It wasn't until a day or so later that I received another email, this time from ups.com on behalf of some rather mysterious entity called "ADAR IMPORTS & DIST" that included a link to a page where I could track my package. As this was the only package I was having sent to me at the time, I could only assume that this was what I had purchased at ElectronicsEmall, although nowhere on the original email did it say I would be getting tracking info from UPS, nor did it say anything on the second email that this was my package from ElectronicsEmall. This certainly would have been a point of confusion, had I had several packages coming to me at once - hence the deduction of one star from the overall rating. This could easily be improved upon, and would have done much to alleviate my worries (albeit temporary) about buying from this website.
That having been said, everything else about the transaction was smooth. I wasn't in any hurry to receive the package, so I just had it shipped UPS ground, but it arrived a full three days before the estimated date of arrival on the first email I received. Which was great - I mean, when I first saw that it would take over a week to arrive, I thought it seemed a bit long, but I'd rather have them overestimate and have it arrive early than be expecting it earlier and have it show up late.
And the transaction was as simple as that. The website was easily navigable, although not the prettiest or most professional-looking. Which doesn't mean I'll take points away from it, but I'm willing to admit that sprucing up the face of things would certainly help customer confidence by some small degree. Overall: email communication could have been better, but the item was cheap and arrived a few days early, so I have no complaints, and would recommend the website on this basis.
I only shopped for the one item on the website, though, so I wouldn't go so far as to guarantee that they'll have the lowest prices on everything. So as always, shop around first.
