This tankless water heater was purchased when I added on to my home and replaced the old laundry room with a new one as part of the project. I bought the Bosch disregarding some marginal reviews of the product I found online, and installed it myself, having worked as a plumber once upon a time. This water heater was problematic from day one. It spit out error codes, refused to light, needed more flow to operate than my dishwasher, washing machine or sinks were capable of drawing. The original installation manual did not indicate that a bend in the exhaust was needed to collect condensation (natural gas condenses water on the inside of the exhaust), so my original install straight through the roof resulted in water falling straight into the burner. A retrofit temp senser fixed another problem, and I had a Bosch "certified" tech come out and replace the ignition electrodes (a $30 part - for $357), which made no difference in the unsatisfactory performance of this product. I replaced it with a Rheem, which works exactly like the Bosch should have. A tankless water heater should be installed and forgotten. If you buy this product, you will be reminded constantly that you made a very expensive mistake. For what the unit cost, the new 1" gas line to the laundry room, stainless steel venting, repairs, etc., I could have bought a new tank water heater every 5 years for the rest of my life. And never spent the day trying to figure out why hot water wasn't coming out of it.
