Outrageously funny, great job, and ahem, very on topic. What about the people in expensive cars on cell phones who force their way ahead in traffic along the highway apron or the lane that's closing? PP, we all have them. Thanks for sharing yours.

I didn't see your comment...I'm sorry!
I bought a GPS and I've NEVER asked a man for directions again.
My son-in-law loved my GPS so much he decided to buy one. He'd never admit it, but he was prone to getting lost. He was born and raised in NY so when he moved to the south, he found our roads rather different. :) Especially at night where the back roads have no street lights, no street signs, no nothing. And, then he met my youngest daughter....she couldn't find her way out of a paper bag so they made a good team! :) They still do.
She called last night to tell me about how she was reorganizing her closet...building shelves, drawers and that sort of thing (she works for a large insurance company). I asked her if Matt, her hubby, was helping. She said he was putting the new lighting in. Why didn't she have decorating initiative when she lived at home? Hey, I'd have settled for keeping the floor of her bedroom free of clothes! :)
*CHUCKLE* It is getting ridiculous with some of our kids today! Schools don't have much control over them, but an incident comes along like the one you had and they're all over you. Honestly, I don't think a good swat hurts any of them.
To be blamed for something you didn't do, causes the blood to boil. :) I can see you calling the school every time one of your boys had a visible bruise (or cut). I have to say me and my mouth would be sarcastic each time I had to call. BTW, I love your boys names. :)
As a retired substitute teacher, I could tell some tales but I'll leave them for another day! You're welcome. You're welcome. LOL.
I'm off to the movies...gotta rush so I can get a good seat! I wish they made invisible ones.
Later.

Hi Julie,
I am a double-crowned bundle of fabulousness, aren't I? Imagine you remembering I have two crowns! hehehe
If you believe half the stories they tell about southern people, it's possible we're blood related as well as being Epinions family! Double whammy. :)
You can't get any luckier than that!
I'm off to the movies. Alone. Sigh. I thought I'd see Taken. My youngest daughter recommended it. I tried to get my oldest grandson to go with me, but he sweetly declined.
Be good!

Queen Dusty, you double-crowned bundle of fabulousness,
I don't think I've ever heard anyone in the family speak specifics as to where in Tennessee. Maybe I need to get into the genealogy thing! Egads. Too much work.
Who knows if we share blood....but at least we're Epinions family! :)

Ha! That made me laugh. And the part about kids.. urghhhh... You can't do anything to discipline a child these days. My son went to school with a red mark on his eye from where his brother punched him and they called social services on ME! I was floored! So, now every single time the kids get a bruise I call 'Hi, this is just Mrs Skilling letting you know that Carter or Hayden has a bruise and it wasn't from me'- I swear, I do!
I didn't know what a phenomena I started! LOL

Hi Julie,
I now know why I took to you so instantly! You have roots in Tennessee. Who knows? We could be related--wouldn't that be a hoot? :)
My roots are east TN. What part(s) of TN are your roots?
Roots? That reminds me. Mine needs a visit to my hair stylist. :)

Sorry I'm late to the party, but I am so glad I read this. I agree with every single thing you said. You know, my lineage tracks my family's origin to Tennessee...perhaps we're kin!! :D
You're a hoot. I adore ya.

Hi Pops,
My GPS has the voice of a woman and her name is Kate.
I've had a couple of spats with her. Due to traffic, I've been in the wrong lane and unable to make a turn. Kate will tell me to make a U-Turn, or take the next exit, or whatever.
If I fail to comply, I could swear she's called me a few names. If she's having a bad day, she becomes grouchy.
Maybe I should have named her something besides Kate. :)
I'm glad you stopped by!
Have a great weekend.
Dusty (Psst--we're gonna be in the 70's for the next few days. Spring weather...blissful smile, blissful sigh).

Hi virtuelle2,
What really bugs me is going to a park where people have their dogs and you have to watch where you step/run. I've seen many families with young children cleaning their kids shoes or just generally trying to find a clean spot for them to play.
Sometimes I've run into travelers who've stopped at McDonald's or even Walmart for a rest/food, they've got their dog on a leash while it does its business. Once the business is done, they walk off and leave the mess. This definitely turns me off for a hamburger! :)
While I'm animal friendly, there are limits to what I consider "friendly consideration." Hmm, I think this could also apply to those ill bred juvies who think they're king of the world. LOL.
Peace,
Dusty

Agree strongly with 2, 3, 4 and 7!
And besides the leash-less dogs, another peeve of mine is owners who walk their dogs and do NOT scoop up after their lovely pet does its business in someone else's yard - and it's especially infuriating when it's YOUR yard they like to leave their pet's poop in. What ever happened to common courtesy and thoughtfulness in this day and age? A lot of these peeves can be done away with with renewed lessons for children (and adults who have gone astray) about character education, good manners and right conduct!
Thanks for this, dusty!

Re: Good List (Reply to this comment)

Oh, Stella, isn't that awful? When I was still married to my ex, we had people dropping their dogs and cats off at our house all the time. We lived in the country...during the dead of night, they'd slowly drive by and dump their animal off.
I'm really not surprised at any of this. Women have babies and put them in the dumpster, or anywhere they can get rid of it, so why wouldn't they do their animals the same way?
People are real works of art!
Take care,
Dusty

Being born and raised in the south doesn't mean our intelligence was diminished at birth. We do have all our teeth, education is quite popular, our conversational skills are more than adequate, and surprise, surprise, we're not all bible thumpers.

Hi Talyseon,
I think you have it right about how we're wired. My eyes tend to glaze over when a man gives me direction (or "did" give me directions). Many years ago, a dude in a gas station actually told me to buy a road map. I was already lost and frustrated...he didn't help any. I needed my taser. :)
Men: Talyseon is right! Women love landmark directions
Thanks T.........

Slap on forehead!
Honest to God, there are times when I wonder where my head/brain is? I probably do have most of them saved in my "LOU" email folder. It would be on my desktop...It's been over a year since I've had my laptop (which I love) so I'll definitely check my desktop folders and see what I can find.

...I am bi directional; I can follow landmarks or routes either one. And since I am, I always give men routes, and women landmarks. They seem happy that way. I am also fond of, "and if you see Dennys, you have gone too far." Women really like that sort of reassurance.
It's just a matter of how our brains are wired. Guys, if you want a woman to love you forever, learn how to direct by landmarks.

Hi Carol,
I think all states assume drivers (obey the laws in parking lots). There should be an added law about people in wheelchairs. I was in one myself last spring and know how it feels to be somewhat incapicated. Being unable to walk leaves you feeling vulnerable.
(I'm pain free now and walking quite well).
If I had to be in a wheelchair for an extended period of time, you can bet your boots I'll be watching out for drivers.....a great number of them are in another world.
Ya think maybe puzzle pieces are missing from some of these people? :)
They're not dealing with a full deck....or taking their life seriously!
Thanks for commenting.
Dusty
Talk about driver's not paying attention...there was a bus driver in Hermitage (TN) who didn't notice a 3rd grader trying to get on the bus behind another student...his jacket, or shirt, whatever, was caught in the doors and he was drug around 100 yards before the bus stopped. The bus driver never noticed the kid. The little boy's doing fine but I'm sure he was petrified!
