Overall I think Audible is a great service if you enjoy reading, but don't have time to pick up a book. I used to drive 4 hours to visit a friend and during those long trips, I'd always bring an audiobook along to keep me entertained. I've also listened to audiobooks on my commute to work on the subway, as well as a few flights! I've never had an issue finding the book I'm looking for.
Regarding their customer service, I think a lot of people get frustrated when they go to cancel. Once I went to cancel my subscription, I was enticed with a coupon for a free audiobook (I think). Of course I accepted the offer, but then when I went to cancel again a few weeks later, the cancel button disappeared and I actually had to call them on the phone to stop my service. When I spoke to them, they were very friendly and didn't give me a hard time at all. I just think that some customers are too lazy to actually pick up the phone - but they really shouldn't have to; the cancel button should always be an option.
Besides that minor customer service problem, I never had to contact them for anything else. Everything was very straightforward; the audiobooks synched to my iTunes and iPhone and I was ready to go. They also just came out with an iPhone app that's free and really easy to use. This way I can download audiobooks on the go!
If you haven't already, I would definitely give them a shot ; ) They offer a free trial on a ton of podcasts, so I'd definitely take advantage of that if you're unsure if you want to subscribe.
