This sounds really fantastic. Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to take a look and pass onto my kids as well.
I am one of the guilty ones over the past few years. I spent years and years at two different employers either heading the volunteer organization or being on the Board of the organization. I spent a lot of time volunteering, but as work responsibilities (and hours) increased and the kids came along and got older the time I had for volunteering seemed to disappear.
Right now the only volunteering I do is take pictures for my son's High School marching band.
I'm really glad you published this from your assignment. It's very well written...and it kind of reminds me of the movie Pay it Forward with Kevin Spacey!!

And since it is not eligible for the write off, and such a good work, you might post it in the Epi lounge. I have done that. Of course, you stop getting hits when you do that, but you reach more people.
Just a thought.

Thank you for the reminder of how very important kindness is. Excellent review - definite food for thought. We get so busy that we forget how our actions can impact others in positive or negative ways.
Take care and happy writing,
Becky

You're welcome, Jennifer!
This is definitely an organization that I'm impressed with-especially because they don't, as you mentioned, accept donations.
And I'm a big believer in karma myself; that's why I try to stay out of trouble, haha. Seriously though, karma is a very strong force.

in good Karma. I believe the easiest way to pass along good karma is with a simple smile and kind word, and work up to real acts of kindness like you describe. I'm intrigued that this foundation does not accept donations ~ that is truly altruistic in my eye. Thanks for bringing to my attention a society that seems to promote it!
Cheers :)
