I ordered a sconce from HomeCenter.com because they were a few bucks cheaper than every other online retailer... and from the first communication with this company, I suspected something was wrong. My credit card was charged immeidately, but I didn't get an auto-generated receipt immediately (that was the first red flag). Instead, a day later, I got a rather unprofessional looking email saying the order had been "received" and was being processed. The email didn't look like the average invoice emails you get from big online sellers... there was no order number and very little information (second red flag).
Well, you can guess what happened. I never got any communication about it being shipped (third red flag). So after a week, I sent an email; no response (fourth red flag). Then I called, got put on hold and transferred a number of times. Then finally the person supposedly handling my order put me on hold to call the manufacturer, and I was told the item would ship in a few days (fifth red flag... now I'm really nervous). She insisted they are not a "drop ship" company but admitted that their lighting products are sent directly from the manufacturer (excuse but isn't that the definition of a drop ship model?). Then when I asked to cancel the order, she became very defensive and rude. She asked me why I wanted to cancel it, and then said she had to call the manufacturer to even see if that was possible. She said she wouldn't be able to issue a credit on my credit card for a few days. Well, I have yet to get a credit for this transaction.
There are complaints about this company all over the Internet. Had I read some of these, I would never have ordered from them. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
