YES! Ordinary GARLIC recipe KNOCKS Sore Throat out COLD! Better than Airborne, and CHEAPER!!!

Apr 07 '09 (Updated Sep 17 '09)

The Bottom Line Garlic is a well-known wonder "cure-all" that can extinguish cold symptoms, and get you back to tip-top shape!

****************************INTRODUCTION***********************

It's difficult not to notice, just looking around lately, how much sicker people are getting.  Almost constitutively, it seems like groups are cycling through different viral and bacterial variants of a cold, flu, or worse.  Prescription medications are becoming increasingly ineffective, and only helping these bugs to wipe out their weaker variants, leaving only the strong, resistant strains to thrive and reproduce.  From methycillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MSRNA) to toxic shock syndrome (TSS)*, newly-evolved "superbug" microbes are making it harder than ever to stay healthy.  Enter: ordinary garlic.

**********************THE ACTUAL PRODUCT*******************

I'm no expert in botany; I'm only writing to relate my experience and findings using garlic to overcome and cope with cold symptoms, allowing you to get back to productive work ASAP.  I will say that it's known to be an ancient "cure-all," and a natural antibiotic.  Onward...

****************************IN USE**************************

As soon as I feel myself getting a scratchy throat, I'll take a clove or two of garlic, 3-4,000 milligrams of vitamin C, and a multivitamin (the amped-up ones for "stress" work better--they usually have more B-vitamins).  I'll take this with a liquid such as coffee, tea, water, or a carbonated beverage.  Right away, I feel the tingling effect of garlic causing some relief.  In conjunction with plenty of fluids, normal meals, and adequate or extra rest, the scratchy throat is nearly non-existent, and diminishing, by the next morning.

The next phase I usually encounter is a runny nose, but it is abbreviated and not as prolific--the sore throat is virtually entirely skipped.  Some sneezing and mucous production will accompany this phase, but I can usually continue working through this (it happens to be what I'm experiencing at this moment).  This particular time, however, I took a Dayquil, and I took a pill for a slight sinus headache yesterday, which all but vanquished it.  I took another regimen of garlic, vitamin C, and a multivitamin this morning, and I may take another 2 doses in the course of the day.

When my brother-in-law started to get sick recently, he tried one of my concoctions.  I threw 2 cloves of garlic (he's a former marine), the vitamins, some fruit juice (mango-ish flavor), and some compatible frozen yogurt into a blender, and finely ground it up.  His symptoms improved virtually right away, not to return in the few hours I was with him.  I've also fixed my wife up, on several occasions.

**************************SOME NOTES**************************

It helps to have a very positive attitude about your health, and faith in the process.  Switching gears a little bit, your mentality towards your infirmity will have a very profound impact on your health.  Doctors face potentially fatal germs on a daily basis, and it's their strong minds that keep them healthy.  In addition, many soldiers have died on battlefields-of non-fatal wounds-simply because they "thought" they had been mortally-wounded.  Others had what could be considered "fatal wounds," yet they survived; this is attributed to their strong mindsets.

**************************CONCLUSION************************

That's pretty much it.  Garlic is a wonder cure, and it's kept me away from the doctor on numerous occasions.  It's also known to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol, and a plethora of other afflictions.  Even at this very moment, I feel fine, am working, the Dayquil has stopped the sneezing and little bit of runny nose, and I just feel a mite bit congested.  However, I feel strong, and am able to work.  What more could you ask for?  Just make sure the garlic is fresh enough.

**************************OBSERVATION***********************

You know--it's funny.  I wish I'd never taken that Dayquil, because it mainly just caused me some nausea that, ironically, didn't go away until I got home and ate a clove of garlic, washed down by some RC Cola--that's a mistake I WON'T be repeating!  That did the trick right away, and sort of demonstrates my point.  I'm really against unnecessary medications of any kind, and more of a promoter of self, natural care.  I've successfully combated other illnesses with garlic, and avoided the time and expense of a doctor, and the inconvenient side-effects of medications.

*****************************UPDATE*************************

I decided I was going to go ahead and attend my very demanding karate practice this same day, later in the evening. To manage this, I took a 40-minute nap when I got home,  and proceeded to jump into a very satisfying practice.  I was actually able stay an extra hour afterwards to help some newer members, and felt more energetic than ever!  In fact, I didn't get to bed until 1AM due to the extra energy (and some necessary chores).  And as I'm writing this the next morning, I feel GREAT, and only have a little congestion I'm clearing out via an occasional sniffle.

***********************SPECIAL NOTE***********************
I've recently found a way to cover up the taste AND sting of garlic--it's almost like you get to bypass them altogether, and it works GREAT!  The secret is GRAPES! That's right--what I usually do is insert slivers of garlic into green grapes, and I can eat as many as I like (I'm recommending you don't do this on an empty stomach, however--it's best as an after-meal snack or accompaniment).  I've long sought a way to do this, and I'm excited to share this with everyone!!!

*NOTE--I'm not suggesting that garlic can prevent TOXIC SHOCK SYNDROME.

When I eat enough garlic, I feel like doing THIS!
