I've seen your Top 6 choices and I have to say, I hated all of them. Nonetheless, good job on the list.

I want to see The Wrestler and Slum Dog Millionaire, but just never had the time. Your list put them at #2 and #1, so now I'm going to have to make some time for these two! Thanks!

The Original "Get Carter" (Reply to this comment)

Ever see the original "Get Carter" starring Michael Caine, around 1971? Brilliant. If you liked In Bruges, you might want to consider adding this suggestion to your list.

Nice list by the way.

"I've Loved You So Long" on your recomendation and loved it. Kristen Scott Thomas was marvelous. Also loved "In Bruges" and am glad to see I'm not the only one who liked "Burn After Reading"!

You've seen more of the better foreign films than I have this year. I certainly would not argue with your top two choices.

Cheers!

There aren't too many that would argue with Slumdog being the movie of the year. Like I said, it won every major award. It really was a refreshing change.

Stephen Murray dedicated his review of I've loved you so long to Barbara. I wrote mine too early.

I couldn't stand Anne Hathaway's character either, but I think that's exactly the way we were supposed to feel about her.

We finally watched Slum Dog Millionaire last week, and it was the best movie I had seen in a long time. So refreshing to see such a unique story line, character development, dialogue, etc.

Well done,

Sue

I really enjoyed many (Reply to this comment)

especially The Visitor, In Bruges, Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler, but I absolutely HATED Rachel Getting Married. I must admit Anne Hathaway did a fine job with her role, I just couldn't stand her character.

I've seen some of these, but you've given me more to watch! Right now for Barbara I'd like a good French movie.
