New to the vintage world, your article on the advent, AR, Dynaco and KLH have provided me with very important foundation knowledge on speakers. It has since guided me to my recent acquisition of AR3a and KLH (12), and hope not in too long New Large Advent. Grateful to you for taking time to write such honest, thoughtful observations of some of those speakers. You're absolutely on the mark - they are just superb and I am now a happy man. Alex Vazquez of San Jose is downsizing and I have been fortunate to inherit some of his inventory, all in fantastic shape. Thank you again Horswispr, and thanks Alex.

Yes indeedy! Stereophile writers lament that there's a whole generation that's never really heard music as it was meant to be heard. Most of my refinishing "customers" are guys who are getting ready to retire and who are getting back to where it all started for them: Mac or Dynaco components and Advent, AR, KLH or Dynaco speakers. It's a real honor to be restoring the stuff I looked up to as a kid.

I still have a pair of Advent Legacies! Lot of fun reading your review. Speakers seem to be a lost art lately, with all the kids listening to iPods and buying those little tinny computer speakers.
