Gifts for Your High School Graduate

May 10 '09

The Bottom Line A gift for every occasion.

If you are looking for a gift for your graduate and not sure what they would like I'm here to help.  Think about his or her longterm goals.

For the grad who "doesn't know what they want in life yet"...
Worried that your son or daughter will be spending the rest of their life in your house?  Buy them their own affordable home.  There won't be running water or electricity, but it is their "own space".  Make a care package that includes prepared and easy to make food items.  Don't forget to include drinks and a mug

Hopefully, it won't be long and your grad will be thinking college looks good.  If they are satisfied with that living arrangement you have bigger problems than wondering what gift to give them.

For the grad going to college...
Why not give him/her a digital camera so they can make a photo journal of their years of "higher learning"?  Don't forget the camera case to protect it from the beer and brawls at the frat & sorority parties.  Ummm...sorry, I meant while your grad was doing study sessions.

If your grad has decided to become a medical student this book will help him/her.  On the other hand, this book will help those who work with him/her.  Bundle them together to make a practical, helpful gift.

For the grad going to work...
What better way to show your grad that you care than to give him/her a way to get to and from their job?  A good work truck is essential for some people.  A more affordable option, if a truck isn't needed, is an older SUV that will allow them to get to and from their job in all types of weather.

Your Graduate
Whatever they choose to do after they graduate high school be proud of them right now.  Graduating is a major accomplishment that should be celebrated by all who care about him/her.  Choosing the right gift is not nearly as important as telling them that you love them, are proud of them, and will be there for them even when they don't think they need you.
