The Bottom Line The definitive review of the best uk has to offer, make sure you you tube them to see the real deal.

In this day and age where the state of Hip-Hop has deteriorated into a commercial entity fueled by catchy songs, snappy beats and little substance. Many are wondering what happened to the days when credible rhymes was what got plaudits, an age where you could see lyrically adept mcs like Biggie, Nas, Pac Jay-z, Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang clan etc on the top of the billboard charts, managing to garner commercial success as well as underground credibility. In this new era of Hip-Hop(if it could be even be called that) rappers like soulja boy have shown us that all you really need nowadays to have commercial sucess are a snappy beat and  a catchy chorus, as (Turn my swag on and lollipop) have shown, so in these bleak days of lyrical stagnation, and a lack of creativity being shown by a large number of Mcs, many fans born into the golden age were left wondering where to go for the music that created a generation of die hard hip-hop fans, as many had believed that Hip-Hop as a music and most importantly as a culture had gone into a barely conscious metaphysical state, where good music could only be brought back alive by our fading memories. Me myself was faced with a dilemma that many fans shared, should i just succumb to the pressures of Bubblegum Hip-Hop and ride with it, believe me i tried but my ears and mind would not let me fall for it. So i evaluated and to my surprise the type of fresh, raw music that i had been looking for was on my very footsteps staring into my tired eyes, what was it? UK Hip-Hop, or grime(a mixture of Hip-Hop and UK garage) as many have come to know it has. In this scene were mcs, that were fresh rugged and new, like Hip-Hop in the golden age, of those mcs a few stood out as pioneers, as the Tupac, Biggie, Nas and Jay-z of the uk scene.

Scorcher- Probably the most talented rapper to have come  out of the U.k, skills that scorcher posses are rare in any artists whether they be from France America or beyond. Scorcher's versatility is what makes him stand out from the rest, he can talk about gruesome street tales has he does with walk with the metal(you tube), young love as he does with my diary, or growing up as a troubled child in London(sandpit). He manages to paint pictures similar to the great Christopher Wallace, but also encapsulates emotion in every bar, similar to Tupac Shakur, putting it in simple terms Scorcher is a monster of a mc that would not look out of place on the streets of new york.  Such bars as "Lets play spot the difference, you got to work at nine, and i got a working nine, and i don't run and hide, i find a spot and run inside, and its working time or 'So We Could Take It From Hits On A Myspace To Real Life Sticks In A Guys Face'
Memorable tracks you should try hear or you tube(Sandpit, Walk with the metal, Hustlers, Red light, skinny sort)

Wretch 32- Wretch 32 has been creating a buzz in the last 12 months that should see him signing to a major, he should of been signed already but you know how the industry goes.(sigh) Arguably the  Uk best rapper technically, Wretch has risen from mediocrity as 1/4 of the movement(rap group that includes scorcher) to being one of the most lyrical formidabble Mcs of his time. I could actually put my money on it that if this guy was born in new york he would of already being named in the same sentence as papoose and co.. what makes him so great is his complex rhyming patterns and picture esuqe lyrics like all great rappers do wretch paints pictures with words, not only that but wrtech is as versatile has it comes from rhyming about inner city crime, to bragging about his "punctuation", to talking about how much he needs his little girl(all i need) wretch is a truly talented mc that could give any u.s rapper a run for the money... You could put your dollars on it. Some of his memorable bars include 'You see evrybody's been through hard days, now everyone thinks thier scarface, and it gets fizzy when thier plans involve, get locked in the can for coke, i hope thier 7 up or '' Your a fool if you aint down, your intllect won't intercept the bullet, it will still leave your brains out.
Memorable Tracks( Wretch 32 Ina di Ghetto, All i need, Punctuation, Nothing last forever)

Ghetts(formerly known as Ghetto)-  1/4 of the
Movement(UK Rap Group that includes, Wretch 32, and Scorcher). Ghetto has become a formiddable Mc in his own right, known for his hard-hitting lyrics, that portray inner-city london at its grimiest. Ghetto has become known for his no-holds barred approach to lyricsm he has been compared to eminem because of his fluid, multi syllabic rhyming that is full of raw emotion, ghetoo is certainly talented, but if thier was one critiscism of him before was that he did not have very much versatility and only made songs that allude to the gruesome street life. Regardless Ghetto is technically as good as any rapper out there, imagine a mixture of canibus, eminem, in terms of lyrical ability and the pain and emoition of Tupac, then you can start to picture the type of mc Ghetto is, but its better to do it for yourself has you can search some songs of his on youtube i.e( Commandments, Skinny Sort, Ina di ghetto, Mountain) bars such as '' crack shottas weigh rocks, coppers raid blocks, robbers they rob, cause thats what they do, i gotta stay strong is a man made view, where we are the animals, ni***z are hungry, and what you got can't feed half a cannibal. or ''They don't care when a man's a corpse, in fact some stand and applaud, don't stand in my way, you won't be able to stand up and walk, paralyzed when i grab a guy, standard assault.

Bashy- Bashy has been on the scne for the good part of five years, still only 24 he has matured from a playful charismatic mc with good bars, to a more playful, more charismatic, Conscious mc with better bars, Proably the least technical mc out of all the rappers i am reviewing but nevertheless bashy can hold his own as he proved when he battled Ghetto a few years back. Out of all the Rappers being reviewed that could probably be succesful in America  , Bashy is probably the frontrunner because he is so versatile, having already garnered commercial sucess after the release of his contraversial and inspirational ''Black Boys'(where he praises positive role models in the black community, how some people viewed it as racist i don't know). Bashy has become more political in recent years talking about topics from black boys, to inner city crime, to the robbing of africa by its colonial masters, maybe this is due to the influence of his hero Nas. Memorable bars include'' shiny yellow metal make a poor man a rich fellow, went and took you when they broke up africa like lego, they had guns so we let go, but now we fight over you in the ghetto,we use guns too like them, so we can get our hands on you like cuzzy take that chain off your neck bro, its nuts because we knew you from the get go, but now they raise the p on you like petrol, we wear you in order to look succesful.... memorable tracks include(black boys, black and gold, i see people, big love, ransom(must see)

Kano- Undoubtedly the most commercial hip-hop artist in UK after that joke who has got more critical succes.... Dizzee Rascal, as soon has he stepped on the scene simlar to nas every one knew kano was special and better than all his compatriots. Still only 22 kano has had reasonable commercial success that even included him getting praise from legends like Andre 3000, Nas, Jay-z, Busta Rhymes and Rakim, for his near-classic debut album Home Sweet Home. Kano's lyrical ability and charisma puts him in a category of hes own he can lighten up the most dull of beats with his wit, charisma and downright top-notch lyrical skills paint pictures with words and switch up his style has shown in reload it., many have compared him to jay-z and to be honest that is not a bad comparison, although his second album did not live up to expectations,(how many times have we said that about great rappers) kano is on his way to commercial success that could include him breaking America in the near future who knows... memorable bars include 'look you can do moves on the street, i'd rather spit bars on the beat, i'd rather that than nick cars every week... the undergrounds like a tough race, you can be living this minute then gone again, like mum you was right, and i was wrong again." Memorable tracks(Signs in life, Reload it, typical me, 9-5, This is the girl, brown eyes)
