A classic bait-n-switch company even though their prices are below the competition. They claim in their website that in order to give you such a low price, they have stopped associating with Amazon as an affiliate, I think if they have done that, they would probably be kicked out for shady practices. I should have checked the complaints websites, all the rosy praises they got, especially here in Epinions are probably from their management team. I ordered a Sony digital camera at a very good price from them, was told to call back, as I suspected, the salesman was trying sell me optional batteries and memory cards at higher prices than most other places. I asked him doesn't the camera come with the original Sony expensive battery, every other dealer said yes. He said yes, a one-hour battery(when was a battery rated for one hour?). I said it was a gift for someone so I would let him decide to buy extra batteries or the brand/size of memory card he wants. Well, I got the camera quick, I live in the same city as FumFie, that should be the case, it's UPS that should get the credit for quick delivery. Ok, so Fumfie did have it in stock, so did everyone else I enquired. Well, as I suspected, the battery was switched to a BOWER brand, that must be the one-hour battery the sly salesman was talking about. I checked it's power rating and it suspiciously looked like the Power 2000 branded one listed by Amazon that has a one-star rating. The wordings in the label is direct copy except for the brand name which makes me suspect it came from the same factory in China which worry me a bit after hearing about exploding, fire-hazard lithium-ion cells from that country. I really doubt the companies that import them will stand by the cheap quality. So I will have to purchase an original Sony battery for my camera. Luckily the charger is a Sony but not the USB sync cord. And the warranty is for USA, whew! I would think carefully about purchasing from this company. From the other complaints, it looks like they use the same bait-and-switch tactics to keep their prices low. So weigh your costs before purchasing, I can be pretty certain your battery will not be an original.
