What You Should Look For In Sports Games

Patience is the key and trying different sports titles each year is the way to go. There are always games to fit your style you just have to find them.

I agree with you. If you stay a year behind the sports titles you will save a ton of money. I also agree that if you do that then your Online play is pretty much out of the question. Still, a lot of people don't play sports titles online and wouldn't really care. I don't play sports games much online myself. It's fun to me just to kick back and play a few games of a certain sport here and there.

Thanks for the comment and see you around Epinions.

I really enjoyed your review, very thorough and fun to read.

One great thing (if you're buying)about sport games, is you can get previous year's model of various games at a greatly reduced price. Titles that sold for $40 - 60 upon release can often be had for 5 bucks or less with a little age on them. It's cheaper than a rental & in most cases allows you extra time to decide if a game is what you're in to.

The downside of this is its often harder to find live players to compete against, either in person or online.

Thanks a lot for the comment. I know I'm more of a "stat" freak than most lol. When I find a sports game I like I tend to play multiple seasons and like to see who is leading in what category at the end. Thanks again and see you around Epinion.

Take care

This is a really good set of rules to follow when buying sports games.

I tend to focus more on the gameplay and control aspects more than the other factors you mention though. Stats are good for stat-driven sports like basketball, baseball, American football and, to an extent, football/soccer.

Like I said, this is a really good summary. Every sports game fan should read this!
