I ordered a Nikon battery from Compuvest. The picture on the website showed the Nikon logo. The information specifically said I would be receiving a new battery manufactured by Nikon. The price was good, so I ordered. I received a generic battery.
When I called I was told that there was a tiny link called "OEM" on the page that told me I would be getting a generic battery even though the main page clearly said the manufacturer was Nikon.
I did not inquire about a warranty when I ordered, because I already knew that the warranty on a Nikon battery is one year. I asked what the warranty was on a generic battery and found out it was 6 months.
I asked for my money back, and was told I would have to pay shipping and that I would only get the current market value of the battery.
In other words, they lied about the product they were selling, then made it impossible to get a full refund.
I had ordered from Compuvest once before and was happy with my purchase. After this experience, I will not order from them ever again. They have really fast shipping, by the way, which is great - - if they ship the product advertised on their site.
