by berniez40 | Jul 27 '09
This generation needs us now more than any other. We fail both them and ourselves if we do not give them all that we've got.

I really loved this. I think that is so great that you are a teacher. I agree that kids need encouragement because they have to know that people believe in them in order for them to succeed. I also think that patience and trust are important too. I think you really hit the nail on the head with this article.

I never have. It's what makes us interesting... and often times funny. Don't worry about it. they haven't invented an ax strong enough to go through our necks.

p.s. you forgot to say Clothing- Five Stars. Those naked kids that keep showing up to class always freaked me out.

Speaking of mutual respect, your compliment means a lot to me. I have always respected your detail orientation, poignancy, and all around honesty when writing a review. With that said, and meant, you can understnd what a heart felt thanks this really is.

we have teachers like you, Bill! It takes a special someone to be a good teacher. I know, I live with one. I told her once that I'd like to teach high school science. As a lab professional I though it would be a good fit. She told me no way. It's not about the curriculum, it's about the kids!

Folks don't realize the lengths teachers, good ones anyway, go to to help their students, so I applaud you for your hard work and for not giving up on the "at-risk" kids.

Mutual respect, for sure. A good teacher understands that.

Most of them do. There's a lot of mutual respect that goes into developing a healthy student teacher relationship. Thanks again.

Hope your students appreciate the great guy that teaches them. If they don't realize it now, they will!
