Don, I especially want to thank you for your information. You are right, I didn't know where to go or what to do. There was a phone number on the check, and I called that only to be faced with several automated answers -- and didn't ever figure out how to talk to a live person. I couldn't figure out how to contact anyone through eps. Finally went to shopping.com and asked a question through their merchant board -- the only way I could figure out how to contact them.
I don't want anyone to get into a verbal altercation because of my ignorance of where and/or how to get the information I need. At any rate, I really appreciate your support.
And a big thank you to everyone who posted helpful information. I am sure this situation will be resolved soon now that I know who to contact.

Tom, I would imagine members have a right to be angry when they get a check that bounces and causes them additional charges at their bank. Not all members will know right off the bat about whom to contact at Epinions.
The Epinions message boards didn't exist until 2004 and members who were members before that often brought complaints to the "Member Messages To The Community" section of the Writer's Corner where patricknjacob's post is.

I have more faith in the corporate side than you apparently do. I fully expect the user will not have 'come back' or 're-post' anything.
p-n-j could have contacted any number of users here on the site for advice on what to do.
p-n-j could have posted a 'what should I do..?!?' post.
p-n-j could have e-mailed you or I or anyone on his trust list, anyone active on the boards, for advice.
But hey, every user is free to post what they want. As is every user free to rate it as they like and to call it what they think it is.
Regardless, does not really matter what you or I think. p-n-j has been offered solid advice. Hopefully it will be considered.

Why should she have to be rebuked at every turn before posting here? I don't see patricknjacob's post here as a "rant," as you call it. I instead see an Epinions member asking for advice on solving a problem she didn't create.

Hi,
You can also email Christal directly - she's the community manager. This has happened once or twice before and she always fixes the problem immediately and reimburses any fees that the check-holder has to pay.
I'm sure it's just a technical glitch, one that Eps will be quite embarrassed about, and rectify right away.
