I have used Travelocity for many years. Over the past two years or so a recurring and annoying phenonomenon has developed. When I price a trip, I often find that by the time I have completed filling out the pages, choosing seats, etc, the price is no longer valid, but has jumped by a substantial amount. Most recently I was trying to create a package including flights, hotel, and rental car. When I reached the point of confirming the reservation, the hotel and rental car portions had disappeared and were not included. When I tried to start over, the airfare had gone up. Ultimately, I made my flight reservations directly on Delta.com, my hotel reservations on the hotel's web page, and my rental car reservation through AAA.
I am so frustrated with Travelocity that I'd even pay a few dollars more just to avoid using them. I have found that I can nearly always find an airfare at least as low on the Airlines' web pages as is available on Travelocity. Given the complexity of a travel plan including airfare, hotel accomodations, and rental car reservations, having to deal with Travelocity for SNAFUS involving any or all of these on a single trip would be a nightmare. If you do an internet search, you can find many, many complaints about how difficult it is to resolve probllems with travel arrangements made through Travelocity.
