I also have had a nightmare of an experience with Barclay's. I was looking for the best (cheapest) way to go SLR digital. I had owned a Cannon Rebel prior to this and I wanted to go with a Nikon after reading reviews on their D80. After I purchased an extra 2 years of warranty for the D80- Nikon camera I called them back to find where the closest repair shop to my location would be since I was having trouble with the 70-300mm lens that came with the set. The lens would not automatically focus whenever I wanted to use the 300 mm range. I would have to lower it to about 200 and then it would focus automatically. I realized there was a problem about 6 months after the purchase was made. When I finally got off hold and spoke to one of their representative he told me my warranty had never been documented and that even though it was only 6 months after I purchased the camera/lens that it would not be covered under warranty. I finally spoke to one of their managers and it was like talking to "Peggy" on the credit card commercials. He didn't care about anything I had to say much less the fact that I still had my receipt with the purchase date and warranty information that I explained I would email him as soon as we were off the phone. In fact he laughed at me and asked "What are you going to do sue me?" He hung up the phone and I called back and was told he was not available. Unbelievable a place like this is still doing business!! Hopefully everyone will write in with their experience with this low class rip off company. I recommend B&H photo for every electronic need!! Lesson learned and note to self "You pay for what you get" and always read the reviews on the company beforehand!
