A gem in Asia

Pros:Great value
Cons:none that I can think of.
The Bottom Line: Staff is very personal. Extended my check out until 7PM. Best Hotel in KL.

I have stayed at the Sheraton Imperial on 2 ocassions and will not hesitate that stay there again. The hotel has 38 floors and is located in what is called the Golden Triangle. Also geared towards business people. It is one of Sheraton's Luxury Collection hotels with 390 rooms. The executive room are about 40 sq.meters. I never got to see those rooms so I cannot comment on them. On both ocassions I stayed in one of the executive suites which is 80 sq.m. It has a full bathroom with double shower, tub and double sink. Toilet is seperate and has a phone in there. There is also a large dressing room and lots of closet space. Seperate bedroom is large with a contemporary sofa, unit with a TV,VCR and radio/CD player. The room is a corner suite with floor to ceiling windows on both walls with views of the mountain on one side and the Petronas Twin Towers on the other. Living room has an entertainment unit exactly like the bedroom with a sofa and 2 chairs. There is also a desk with 3 chairs in one corner as well as a telephone and fax machine to conduct business.

There is also a guest bathroom at the entrance into the livingroom. The rooms are really nicely decorated. Room 3703 is nice and if you are staying in one of those suites, do request it.

There is an executive lounge on the 38 floor where you can get evening cocktails and hors d'oeurvres if you are staying on any of the executive floors. It was from 6PM to 8PM but the last time I was there they had changed it to 11AM to 11PM, so you could go up there and eat and drink all day if you wanted. There is also butler service and it felt great to have someone unpack and pack my luggage.

There is an Italian, Chinese and an International restaurant, a couple of bars and an night club called Rivas. Did not check it out so I do not know much about it.
The food in the Botanica was good. I just had breakfast there. The fruits especially the papaya was awesome. I believe that the price was resonable, but my room came with the breakfast so I did not pay attention.

With a short $3 cab ride you can get to lots of Shopping. You can find lots of bargains. It is a shoppers paradise and the USD goes very far. $1 is $3.80 Malaysian Ringitts. There is also shopping on the 1st 5 floors of the Twin Towers where you will find lots of designer stores. I felt that the prices are a bit higher than Lot 10 and the other shopping areas nearby.

The hotel is has a nice swimming pool on the 5th floor along with a snack bar. There is also a spa and gym. I got a massage for very cheap. I believe it cost about $30 or $40.

Room rates were unbelievably low. I had paid $97 for the suite. Prices are going up now. I am planning to stay there in May and the suite is now going for $150. Still not bad considering what you would pay for if you were in let say NY, LA and San Francisco. Well hope that there is enough info for your next trip.

Just came back from my stay at the Sheraton in June and it is still just as beautiful. Drinks are free flowing in the club lounge from 11AM to 11PM. They offer free laundry and pressing everyday and drycleaning is for a small fee. The butler told me that dry cleaning was also free so you should have seen my face when I received the bill. Well the front desk was kind to remove the charges as the mistake was on their part. Kuddos to Sheraton Imperial. It is truly a luxury collection.
