What a mistake I made by buying that Superbroom
Written: Jan 20 '02 (Updated Jan 20 '02)
Pros:Lightweight
Cons:Terrible suction, noisy, cord too short
The Bottom Line: Don't even think of buying it. It's not worth the money.
I had bought the Superbroom to use for quick cleanups in the kitchen and bathroom as an alternative to dragging out my upright vacuum and using the bulky hoses w/attachments. Unfortunately, since Oreck bought out Regina, I cannot find an Electrikbroom in any store (trust me, my family used Regina Electrikbrooms even before I was born). My mom didn't like the Hoover stick-vacs that much, so I ventured out and bought this Eureka Superbroom.
It was lightweight, has a dirt cup instead of bags, a detachable handle. The model I bought is only straight suction, no second motor in its nozzle.
Over the course of using it for about a year, I had come to realize that purchasing it was a big mistake.
I do have to give credit that this Superbroom is the lightest vacuum out on the market.
Eureka advertises on its box that this Superbroom is quiet. This machine has a high pitch whine when you use it...the sound feels like it's piercing my head!! The cord is way too short and cannot vacuum a second room without having to unplug in each room. I did eventually use an extension cord.
Unless the dirt is mediocre, the suction stinks big time. I ended up giving it away and replaced it with a canister vacuum.
