The Travels of my Nose and Ears

The Bottom Line I wish I could write better than this.

The smell is musty but it reminds me of a time in my grandfather's shed
Light coming through the window panes
The dust of years stirred by my explorations

Rotten weeds and various things brought past me on the wind deliver a memory long stored away and so fleeting I'm left with only the promise of the memory and nothing else

A door hinge squeaking with an assist from the clump of my boot on the floor took me years away to my childhood farm and the sight of cows entering the barn through side door

As age takes me with illness and malice I cherish the scents and sounds of the memories bringing joy to my old and tired soul
