Everyone's looking to save a buck when they attempt to reserve a hotel online. I make several trips a year where I need to use a hotel room for a stay over and every year I seem to average around $75-90 a night even using a company rate so I decided to try something different and use Expedia.
Their website was fairly easy and to the point. I searched for the town I wanted and located a very cheap rate of $53.94, with a simple two star hotel that didn't have any negative ratings so I figured why not and booked it.
Mind you I'd booked for Dec 25th on Dec 24th, so I'd expected something to be glitchy somewhere. I was notified the transaction was complete and they were notifying the hotel. A little while later I checked expedia's site and found the hotel's status was "booked".
When I arrived at the hotel, all they asked for was to see my ID and handed me my key, very quick and painless process to say the least. I would highly recommend using Expedia for anyone looking to book a hotel at a decent rate with minimal/no hastle.
I would like to say though that you get what you pay for and while I did get a cheap cost hotel it was definately a two star place. I'd suggest reading all the reviews and possibly upgrading for a few dollars more rather than taking the "cheapest" place you can find.
