Many years
Many crushes
No success stories.
What is it I’m looking for?
How can I ask for more,
When I already have so much?
What you want
What you think you need
What you get
Are these ever the same thing?
Pessimism
Constantly, actively, searching for more
Not realising you’re truly lucky to have all you’ve got
Optimism
Seeing how blessed you already are
And knowing the rest will come, one day
The former is depressing, the latter, satisfying
Which would you rather be?
I know my choice
Opportunities do not always have to be sought out
Sometimes, they are just thrown at you
Wisdom is knowing which to take and which to leave
From around the world
The cry rings out
“Here I am, come and find me!”
You are not yet ready
Or you would not be waiting
The right thing can only happen at the right time
When times look bleak
It is not what you are searching for, but rather what you already have
That will get you through
Friends
Family
Beliefs
Count your blessings
Lean on them when you cannot stand for yourself
For one day, they will need you to be the strong one
The weight of the world is not yours to carry
One person cannot handle that burden
But look at the weight of your own world
Look at what you have
Who is around you
And how they can help
If you care about your friends
Would you not want to help them
In their time of need?
So why not let them
Do the same for you?
Sometimes, it's okay to be selfish
To rely on others
Life CAN suck
Sometimes, despite all the good you have
Nothing seems to go right
There is no such thing as a small problem
Because we have a tendency to carry these around
And not let people in
People who could be helping us
And even the smallest problem grows
The longer you shoulder it
A true friend is always there
Always understanding
Let them in
Let them help
Because the ones who want to
Are the greatest blessings you could ever ask for
And you should feel blessed to have them
