I'm really into the holiday slipper socks that Target sells (they're Mary Jane style). I got Halloween ones and now I have Christmas ones. I plan to get Valentine ones if they sells them! They have nice slip proof bottoms.

What a wonderful idea about your potato basket. Perhaps Ms. Spud and Spudette could knit little hats for the different spuds in your returnable spud basket too. :)

P.S. knit picker....ha ha!

of course there's always the potato basket with potatoes of different colors and varieties. I always ask for the basket back to save money for the following year.

Mrs. spudman and the spudette do crocheted gifts also, though choosing the right yarn does make one a knit picker.

Thanks, Erica. That sounds like a wonderful idea. I know what kind of fabric you mean, but can't remember the name either!

Happy Thanksgiving.

then some very thin veil material (I can't remember what mom calls it), colored yarns or metallic threads and make little sachets for drawers and closets . . .

Inexpensive, nicely time-consuming and a great way to kill a bottle of cheap red wine while doing this fun craft !

Have a great holiday my dear and I 'd love to send you one of my creations for the xmas season.
Email me and we'll talk.
hugs,

Hi Margaret, My place is so small and I sometimes do that and tuck them away and lose them too! I have had to make myself stop buying things too far in advance, because I forget that I have them and where I have put them! Thanks for your comment.

I think fun socks are always a treat! Why should socks be boring? Bet your DIL looks forward to new socks from you, daisylynne!

Thanks so much for sharing.

I buy things on sale, and put them away for various occasions. Only problem is, I don't necessarily keep them in the same place/closet, so sometimes, I "lose" them for awhile...ha...ha!

But it's always fun to "re-discover" them again!

Socks! (Reply to this comment)

I've been giving my daughter in law a pair of "fancy" socks for Christmas since about 2002 (about 4 years before she was my DIL) and I think she looks forward to them. I usually buy bunches of them at after-Christmas sales and then I have cute presents for the girls I work with...inexpensive, and they love them!

Thanks for your comment, Megan. It's going one extra step, which could be especially helpful for people when it is hard to get out, due to many things, including snow!
