I bought the Kitchenaid Superba slide in range with convection oven at Sears in October 2001. It works very well, especially the high power burner that boils water incredibly fast. I like the top grates because pans can be moved from high power to the simmer burner without lifting. There is also a simmer burner at the back of the range top and one at the front, very convenient when cooking a large meal with something like gravy that has to be stirred constantly while something else simmers. The converter on the convection oven doesn't always get the time right-I find meats need longer than the converter says, but it makes the best roast turkey and chicken I've ever had. It also bakes well. The only problem with the range is a constant smell of leaking gas. I've had the installer back to check it, Sears and PG&E have checked it and Sears is coming again. I'm not the only one who smells it, and it is coming from one of the knobs that turn on a top burner. Every time I schedule a repair, it means staying home for a 4 hour window, the tightest scheduling you can get, so I figure it has cost me so far about $1000 in lost work time. And it still smells. Other than that, I like this range. Update 01-28-02: The repairman was here again and replaced a valve under the smelly knob. So far the smell is gone.
