Caldecott Medal books are delights for the imagination and the eye. This list provides links to reviews of all of the Caldecott Medal books (not the honorees) since 1938.

The ones I've read brought smiles to my face and that alone makes me want to read the others. You're welcome. Enjoy.

you're doing these too. Just reading the list brings a smile to my face...so many old friends.

Again, great resource, one that I hope will get lots of use!

The danger in doing this is I was really busy at the local library this afternoon checking out some of these books. I'm really trying to move away from children's books.

Yup, they kind of get you that way. The Invention of Hugo Cabret took me by surprise as did Flotsam.

only two of these, Where the Wild Things Are and The Invention of Hugo Cabret, and they are two of the most memorable books I have ever read.

Oh, I love it (and bought it for my kids when they were little) - I didn't know it was a Caldecott winner.

What an awesome idea!

Perhaps you and your family can review some that are lacking Epinionated thoughts. Your contributions would be welcomed.

I just returned Nine Days to Christmas to the library last week. Not the type of story I was looking for, but we did like the pictures. I'll pick it up again tomorrow and then fill out the SAP.

Nice idea to put these all in one review, instead of relying on the database to keep an updated list :)

I will have the Newburys up tomorrow and several others up later this week. It is sort of available, but it's in a different format and it is out of date.

FWIW, I've pinned this to the top of the Books Children category and it's on my profile page.

I have often thought that this list of books is something that should be featured on the 'books' category 'home' page.

Why would the site not want to promote reviews and shopping links to the best of youth literature..??

I have also thought about trying to review 'more than a few' of these myself . . .but...

Anyway, good idea and a good resource in and of itself.

Hi Patsy

Some pretty special books received the honor.

I'm surprised that Jan Brett has never won.

I'll have to explore the ones I don't know.

Cheers!
