Policy has no flexibility! Not returning for more purchases

Been a long time customer however I will not be a returning customer. I purchased an item, slippers, as a Christmas gift for someone (Sept), and...they did not fit. When I contacted the company to say I wanted to just exchange for a different size, I was reminded of their 60 day exchange policy. I understand their policy however I did not want a credit or my money back, I only wanted a different size, offered to pay the difference if they were more than my original purchase price, or offered to buy a different style. The answer was "no." Apparently this company does not encourage customers to purchase gifts beyond their "policy" timelines. I was not treated, in my opinion, very nicely by the supervisor I spoke with either. I sent an email to the company telling them of how dissatisfied I was, received a return email telling me that they were going to "look into it" and get back to me shortly. Been at least two weeks and no word..so from a company that I purchased from for many years to a company that obviously doesn't want my business. I never had any issues witht his company before and always felt confident in their products, services, and overall satisfaction...but no more. I WILL NOT be a returning customer!
Unfortunately their shipping, ease of ordering, and promptness of product arrival has been great, but this is negatively impacted by not being able to make an exchange, which was a gift. I am left with a product that no one can use. I do not feel I need to spend my money with companies that offer no flexibility in policies.
