I would not trust Northern Tool with my money ever again.

We were thrilled to find an electric meat mincer on Northern Tool's website after having searched a lot for a suitable one. The delivery was fast. However, when we opened the box, it was covered in oil. The oil was everywhere, inside the box, inside the plastic bag with the machine and all over the machine itself (including the plug which the instructions clearly warn must not be wet). We wanted a refund so it was collected as efficiently as it was delivered. However, we were subsequently sent on a wild goose chase for approximately one month trying to get a refund. We were told on a weekly basis that payment would be made the following "Tuesday" and were given a different promise almost every week. Whatever assurance we had been given the previous week would not only not have been executed but we would be given a different and new reason with a new assurance that it would be paid the following "Tuesday". The main driver seemed to be that they had been acquired by another company which was causing issues but absolutely no reassurance or priority was given to refunding me despite having to chase on a weekly basis. I have invested a lot of my own time chasing the refund and had to spend my own money on numerous telephone calls to their Customer Service line. The Customer Service reps did not seem to be able to do anything but apologise and feed through promises that would later not materialise. Needless to say, we will not be purchasing anything from Northern Tool again. I was very disappointed with the service and found the whole process very frustrating and stressful.
