Worst customer service by far I have come across in a long time. I have called at least 5 times about returning a regular nook so that I could purchase a nook color. Originally I went into the store to try and return it and was told that becuase the shrink wrap was taken off the box, that it could not be returned. I then called Barnes and Noble's customer service and after an hour was told that the person in store was incorrect and that he would email me a RMA number and a UPS return slip to send it back. The return slip came, but the RMA number never did. I called back and after being on hold at least another hour was told that she would email the RMA number again, I asked if she could just tell it to me over the phone, she said she could not and that she would just email it to me. Guess what...never happened. My wife called again after a couple of days and actually did get them to tell her the RMA number over the phone. Great now I could just send the nook back and they would return my money right??? They received the nook on the 10th of Jan. I called back on the 26th of Jan to ask why I had not been credited the money back, and was told that they had not received the nook yet. I gave them the tracking number and was placed on hold while they looked it up. they came back and told me that they were sorry, they saw where they had received it and would push my return through. It is now the 2nd of Feb and I still have not received a refund...guess what, I am currently sitting on hold waiting to find out why it is so impossible to process something as simple as a return. To date I have spent a minimum of 6 hours trying to get this done.
