It has been a long time since I was out here on epinions, but I wanted to let you know what has happened to me. Back in July 2009, I was on eharmony on a free weekend that they have every few months, and I went through all of my matches. One of the individuals was a gentleman that lived about 25 minutes from me. Even though I had matched many individuals before, I found that most of those individuals did not want to correspond with me after reading my profile. Unlike most individuals online, I laid my entire life out on the line – I put the fact that my youngest son was disabled and that I was a Special Olympics coach and very active in the world of the disabled. However, on July 3, 2009, one of those men actually wrote me back on eharmony. We corresponded on that free weekend back and forth until it got to the last day of the free weekend where we swapped email addresses to correspond off of the eharmony service. From that point on, we began to be very close. We had a mutual agreement to only correspond email and text message until we felt that God had given us a sign to correspond on the phone and in person. And for 3 ½ months, that’s what we did. We wrote emails to one another – very thought provoking emails that had us examining the depths of our hearts and souls, and eventually this wonderful gentleman began to fall in love with me. Wanting to make sure that he really loved me instead of the idea of “being in love”, I told him things about myself that would probably scare off any man. I didn’t want anything hidden between us – if this was going to go further, I knew that I would have to trust him implicitly and he I. He, in return, told me things that would have also scared off most women, but the fact that he trusted me so caused me also to fall in love with him. In fact, he asked me to marry him, sight unseen, voice unheard, never touching… .and I said “yes”. On October 24, 2009, we met in person, face to face. My youngest son was receiving a state award for being successful despite his disability and he wanted Larry to be there to watch him receive his award. So, that morning, Larry came to my front door, rang the door bell, and as I opened the door, I said – Hello Larry Turner, and he took me in my arms with a kiss that was absolutely perfect, lasting long and sweet – and I knew at that point in my life that I would be with this man the rest of my life and into eternity. Because we had not seen one another all of that time we were fascinated with just sitting and gazing at one another – and because we had not heard each other’s voices, we could just sit there and talk to one another for hours without tiring, and as I looked at him, the tears of joy just came flowing from my eyes like a water fountain, because at last I found the true love I had waited for all my life. When two people perfectly matched find one another, they cannot be apart. When we were forced to be apart, it was like someone cutting us with knives – for all we wanted – was to be together… So, on February 12, 2010, we stood in front of one of my favorite judges in the courthouse, and said our vows as husband and wife. And again, as that perfect kiss enveloped me, I knew again that this would be my love of an eternity – and he is… To me he is the most wonderful man in this world – I love him and trust him more than I have ever loved or trusted anyone in my life, and what’s amazing is that he loves me like that too. So, here I stand before you, quite married now, and happier than I have ever been in my entire life. As a woman of the Lord and a wife to a good Christian man, I have peace and security knowing that in Christ all of my needs are met, and that He has blessed me with a love that most never realize.
