The Bottom Line Aussicon 4, the 68th World Science Fiction Convention, announced yesterday the nominees for the 2010 Hugo Awards for excellence in the speculative fiction genre in 2009.
UPDATE—23 September 2010: The winners were announced on Sunday, September 5, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, with a tie in the novel category. The winners are indicated in boldface type. ***** Aussicon 4, the 68th World Science Fiction Convention, announced yesterday the nominees for the 2010 Hugo Awards for excellence in the speculative fiction genre in 2009. The Hugo Awards honor both professional and fan work. The winners will be announced at the Hugo Awards Ceremony during Aussiecon 4 (aka Worldcon 68), in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on Sunday, September 5. Hardcopy ballots will be provided to members via postal mail with its progress report #3, as well as a printable version available at the Aussiecon 4 website. All supporting and attending members of Aussiecon 4 are eligible to vote on the Hugo Awards, providing they join before the 31 July 2010 voting deadline. The Aussiecon 4 convention committee will be distributing an e-packet of the less accessible nominated material to members who join before voting deadline. The e-packet is free with membership.
