1/27: I placed an order for Whirlpool Appliances from San Diego, California via online before 11:00am pst. 1/28: I called in to confirm my order because I thought the only thing stopping me from getting these appliances in three weeks they advertised was back order. And I wanted to confirm that there is no problem with my order. The answer? The sale man proudly said that he could not confirm my order because it’s too early. He told me to call back in a week. A week? 1/31: Their order processing send me an email saying my credit card won’t go through. I immediately called them back and removed the security. They charged me right then and said that I would receive an invoice via email. 2/4: I called back because I didn’t receive the invoice as the order process lady promised. This lady was very defensive and said it will be sent in a minute. I had to assume they forgot to process the order. I finally received the receipt later this day. This lady said that I would receive an email once the appliances were shipped. 2/8: I called in because I still had not received the shipping confirmation. This was a week after I paid. The sales person said that my order is being shipped today or tomorrow 2/9. 2/14: I called them back to get tracking#. They said my order is staged. Staged and ready to be picked up by a trucking company. He said may be by 2/15. ??? What happened to what the previous sales person said? 2/15: I finally got this email: Your order is shipping today! The carrier is HomeDirect USA and your order can be tracked after 48 hours. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for your shipment to arrive at the local delivery agent. 2/18: I got the tracking# by calling this freight company. But the order was still sitting in Indiana. Now the estimated delivery time is showing 3/3. My expectation is reduced to hoping that my order actually arrives in a good condition. Thank you so much for 3 week delivery estimate and empty promises.
The problem I see is very clear that this company does not have any correcting measures once things fall out of their Stone Age system. For a customer like me it is a big gamble. My family will not have cook tops, dishwasher etc. god knows for how long? No one is responsible for what they say. No manager to fix problems. I felt very sorry for those sales people for the lack of support. They all acted like mentally beat up even though I was never angry at them. The Bizrate is very misleading if you read the actual comments, which I did not and believed that overall rate is indicative of my order. There are way too many angry customers especially on appliance orders.
