To start things off, I was trying to build my own home theatre system. I was on ubid looking for a 5 disk cd changer and ended up finding this one. I thought it would be like our kenwood cd changer, loud and slow, but thats exactly what it wasn't. The way I have it set up, its a couple feet from my head and I still cant hear when its changing disks. As an added bonus, the wheel spins both ways to speed up the wait time between cds. And to top it all off, its refurbished.
As for durability, I have my 30 lb receiver set up on top of the cd changer and there is no sign of weakness. I dropped it off of my desk (oops, not on purpose) and when i picked it up, it wasn't damaged in any way.
This was one of the best purchases I have ever made in terms of electronics
