Pros:- Inexpensive (less than $4 at Walmart)
- Works really well
- Easy to obtain
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Works really well for hard water spots. Easy to use, inexpensive, easy to find in the stores. It actually makes dishwashing detergent less expensive because you use so much less.
I have a 6 year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher (really pretty new!). In the last few months, the glass items and stainless flatware have been coming out with white muck on them. Some even have such a mess you can scrape it off with your fingernail. I tried different dishwasher detergents (powder, gel, tablets, all brands) but nothing worked and at first I thought that the dishwasher had a problem. I went to the sites about dishwasher problems and cleaned everything out as they suggested. Still no luck.
I searched here on Epinions.com and on other sites for a solution to the problem and found reviews about Lemi Shine. It really works, honest! I use 1/2 dishwasher detergent (powder) and 1/2 Lemi Shine in the soap dispenser and the glasses, clear bowls, and flatware come out spotless. It turns out that my problem is the hard water we have here in my area (good 'ole MWD in So. Cal.). I highly recommend this product for hard water problems. This is a product I probably would normally by-pass in the store because of the seemingly too-good-to-be-true claims, but the claims about it working are right on. It is very inexpensive and easy to find (found mine at Walmart for less than $4). You only use a little bit so this 12 oz package will last quite a while. I haven't done the recommended overnight soak yet, but I'm sure it will clear out more of the hard water residue in the bottom of the dishwasher.
