CRUTCHFIELD IS ONE OF THE CONSUMER'S BEST RESOURCES
For decades, Crutchfield has been a stalwart mail-order electronics retailer that gave gearheads like me an alternative to the high-priced TV/Stereo shops in town. Their catalogs are unquestionably the best mail order has to offer, with colorful photos, in-depth descriptions, and plenty of specifications to make an informed decision.
Then the Internet came along. And Crutchfield launched one of the best online stores out there, providing the same great content and service as they did through their catalogs. Whenever I'm in the market for new equipment, Crutchfield.com is one of my first stops.
SO WHY NOT BUY FROM CRUTCHFIELD? PRICE.
For most products available at Crutchfield, I can get a lower price either a my local discount electronics superstore (Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's), or and even lower price through an online retailer.
I simply cannot justify paying $50 or more at Crutchfield, when the same product can be bought elsewhere more cheaply. Try it for yourself. Find the product of your dreams at Crutchfield and then search for the lowest price through Dealtime.com, PriceScan.com, My Simon.com, or one of the superstore websites like BestBuy.com. It's been my experience, that the same new-in-box, full factory warrantied item can be had significantly cheaper somewhere else. You might not get their friendly service, no-hassle return policy, or product support, but when it comes to keeping more dollars in your pocket there are better places to do businesses with.
Thank you, Crutchfield.com, for providing such quality information, detailed product photos, and recommendations. But until you offer price matching or lower your prices, my Shopping Cart will never make it through Checkout.
