I've had Snappy for 4 yrs, and I still use it(version 3.0). I paid $99 and it came with (amongst other programs) Photodeluxe 2.0, which I also still use. Granted, it's not Photoshop (yes, I have that too) but it's easy to use and can be used to edit *most* things.
From my experience I prefer Snappy to most digital cameras: It's cheaper, the pictures you can capture are infinite and you can do some preliminary editing to boot. Sure, you can buy a high end camera, but even most pro photographers don't use digital.
Snappy can be used with a live camera, a camcorder, a VCR (even by it's self) or television.
Now for the drawbacks: Peripherals. I use two- a parallel port switch box, and a AC adapter (instead of a 9v battery).
Some said they are having problems with switch box in tandum with a lazer printer. I myself have an inkjet, so I'm ignorant on the subject. What I did to add the switch box is go to the "Control Panel" and "Add New Hardware".
I also initially had a compatibility problem adding Snappy to a new computer. I resolved the problem by going to the website and downloaded a "fixit" file. Problem solved.
