We recently refinanced our home mortgage in order to fund a kitchen renovation. The process was smooth and delivered results as promised - a refinance, competitively priced, without the need to leave our home for meetings, appointments or signatures. The process was initiated with an email and a quick response from Quicken, which set up a phone call. There was no pressure and the process was clearly and accurately outlined. The loan team had a leader who was available every time we called for questions or clarifications, including after the loan had already closed! The team was large and at times we received communication from unfamiliar names, however they identified themselves clearly. When we faxed documents, we received quick confirmations by email that they had been received. There was occasional redundancy of messages to confirm steps that were already completed but this was a very minor issue. The loan servicer changed from Quicken to another company before the first payment was due and we had no invoice or payment book yet, so we were a little nervous that the first payment might not be recorded in a timely way, but a quick email to the loan team told us just what to do.
We've done this all before, and we have to say, that overall, this is about as easy as it gets with mortgages and refinancing.
