Yahoo!'s GetMusic.com dishes up an impressive array of popular mp3 recordings so you can listen before you buy. It highlights popular artists from most musical genres so a listener can curiously investigate what Pink's all about, how Britney's doing and see what Blink182 is up to. GetMusic.com isn't just a fancy radio, either. You can download wallpaper, screensavers and send e-cards with your favorite artists pictured. While visiting GetMusic.com listen to your favorite mp3 while making your own music video in GetMusic's video lab. You can choose from over 1,000 clips to use.
Besides contests, games and photos check out GetMusic's live chats under their Calendar section. Some are even hour long interviews where you can view a candid performance from the artists. GetMusic has everyone from the Disturbed to Ryan Adams. I enjoyed watching and listening to an interview and performance GetMusic did with Marvelous 3.
The aspect of GetMusic.com that I am most impressed with is their karaoke. You can record a song and put it online for others to listen to and rate. If your song turns out well you could make it into the Hall of Fame and be featured on GetMusic's site.
Whether you decide to buy through GetMusic.com is up to you but they're prices aren't bad at all. Click on the "Buy Music" button next to a selection and you'll most likely be sent to a site called Duffel Bag which sells new, used and Import CDs for a very reasonable price, usually around $10 or less.
Bottom line, GetMusic.com is a fun site that is well designed and easy to navigate once you explore it a little. I know I'll be a weekly visitor.
