I actually do remember that one also, I still have a copy of it on a floppy somewhere although I have lost my original ICQ number (which was one of the early ones also). Now I look back at that version and laugh at how simple it was then but it was still a great thing then.
My favorite version is still 99b but for some reason if I use that and talk to friends who have 2001b then it loses the messages so I had to change to that also.

I have also been using ICQ for EVER.
I have been using it since Version 1.3 (Windows 3.1)
I still think Version 1.3 was the best it fit on a floppy disk!
BTW have you tried ICQ lite?
