I have tried several of the 'earn points' programs on the internet and thought this was one of the better ones. When I joined Memolink it had ample opportunities to earn points to be redeemed for a number of different prizes. You can answer trivia questions, click on websites and of course purchase from their sponsors to earn points. They had prized that ranged from restaurants like Olive Garden down to Burger King. They also offered gift certificates from Target, Walmart Kmart etc and movie tickets from AMC theatres.
Within about 4 months I earned enough points to order "The gift of entertainment" from AMC theatre. This included 2 movie tickets, 2 small drink and a small popcorn. Now enters the problem. I ordered this on April 3, 2001. I was told I would receive my order within 4 - 6 weeks. After 8 weeks I sent several emails asking what happened to my order. I finally received an email stating that several of their sponsors had gone bankrupt and they were behind with the prizes but I was assured that I would receive my order within 12 weeks.
The weeks turned into months and still nothing showed up in my mailbox. After 6 months I sent several more emails. (5 seems to be the lucky number to actually get a response) This time I was given the same song and dance that they were 'a little behind' still and I would receive my order by January.
The seasons changed, I got a few more gray hairs and still no order arrived. Another half dozen emails later I received the latest response:
Your current prize or prizes will now be filled as follows:
All April Prizes: No later than May 31st, 2002
All May Prizes: No later than July 31st, 2002
All June Prizes: No later than September 30th, 2002
All July Prizes: No later than November 30th, 2002
All August Prizes: No later than December 31st, 2002
So now I am waiting over a year to receive 2 stinking movie tickets valued at $22.00. I truly feel sorry for anyone that took the time to save up points to receive anything worth any more money than that.
Needless to say, I have since quit this program. Their promises remain unfulfilled and I have stopped looking hopefully into the mailbox for my reward. Maybe one day I will receive my movie tickets. Hopefully the big screen will still be in use by the time I receive them.
