Pros: Looks smashing, large capacity, feels great in the hand; affordable
Cons: You'll need storage space as the glasses are tall and wide
The Bottom Line: For not much money these glasses add to the enjoyment of drinking red wine. If you have storage space that will accommodate them, I' d say get them.

| zeecee's Full Review: Riedel Wines Cabernet, Merlot |
These glasses come with the legend of showing off the taste of the wine, allowing the proper amount of air to hit the top and you probably won't buy them without giving it some thought. There are many models and types to the various lines. I chose these because they're huge and terrific looking, affordable (got them on e-bay for something like $6 per glass - they can run about $10 or so retail). Using them is fun and draws your attention to the glass. I'm not enough of a "nose" to know if wine tastes better in them, as there are many who claim that to be the case with Riedel glasses, but they do give it an importance and draw attention to the drink because the size and shape are unusual. They also go in the dishwasher (be careful though).
Riedel has other series, more expensive and more fragile. They may be a bit more luxurious, but I like this series for it's practicality. Spiegelnau makes wine glasses too and they may be comparable to this series, but I'm totally pleased with this particular red wine glass.
I recommend looking for them on e-bay, which can be cost effective.
