Bought Fan & Remote at Costco in 2007 in 2011 Remote Breaks

Pros:Initially Cheap, Nice design
Cons:Not reliable remote control, Hunter warranty doesn't apply to light or remote fan only.
The Bottom Line: Only Good for 4 years then have to spend $50 in replacement part?
Should have bought better brand from beginning
Light stil works on Fan My electrician wired it to a switch because he told me back in 2007 that it has been his experience that the remote control for the fan will fail. Well, I 'll be four years later it happened to me too. The remote control will turn the light on and off but it WILL NOT OPERATE the FAN any Longer!
The electrician told me back then to get a CASABLANCA fan & I wouldn't have this problem. He told me a Casablanca would cost twice as much but the controls of the fan would last a lifetime or have a lifetime warranty. I'll admit, I was trying to be cheap when building this addition on my house.
Now I guess I will look for a Casablanca as a replacemnt. Dang if I am going to buy a $50 remote control from hunter Fan every four years...this is what they want you to do. They don't warranty Lights, remote controls or any other accesory product. They only give a limited lifetime warranty on the fan. Won't be buying anymore Hunter fans since they have changed their "policies" . Time to get a company that will stand behind their products..5, 10, 15 years down the road.
