I suppose it worked out, but would not recommend again. This is for those people buying large items like stoves, fridge, washer/dryer. Major appliances are a big hassle, this is not like returning a hard drive you purchased online and researched the hell out of. This is a BIG item, and it's out of state. I don't buy cars out of state. Question why you would buy a major appliance out of state. A stove or fridge is a big ticket item, long term fixture in your house. It has it's own liability issues with manufacturer and delivery company. The cost efficiency is in the sales tax, not paying for customer service, and free (ie. cheapest/worst) delivery service. You basically get product, that's it. This should be your expectation. You really got to do your homework to make this work. You can afford to make an impulse buy at places like Home Depot or Best Buy for a major appliance, and return if you change mind or it just doesn't work out. Not at this place. Once you purchase it, that's it. We probably saved about $300-$400. Next time, I would buy local and pay the sales tax and standard shipping fees just for convenience of it all and basic protection. Some tips: 1. Order the right appliance. Make sure it's one you want. Be certain of your choice. It's going to be with you hopefully 10+ years. Read all the reviews. It's expensive mistake to return once shipped. Make sure it's right size, and will fit. Measure. This includes delivery into doors, hallways, stairs, space it occupies. Don't change your mind, you cannot afford to make this an impulse buy. 2. Make arrangements for yourself or a helper to be available M-F (don't deliver on weekends). They basically just leave your appliance on street. If microwave or grill, no problem. If refridgerator or washer/dryer, BIG problem. If you're not available, make sure your helper knows how to inspect for damage upon delivery and give clear instructions on what to do. Make sure you have enough people to lift appliance into house if need be. You may need tools to remove doors. You might need extra cash on hand to pay AM Trucking to bring up extra flight of stairs. You might have to take a day off work, and do it yourself. This takes coordination on your part and thinking all the way through. Consider cost of taking day off work to save on this "free" shipping, and hassle involved in organizing everything. We paid extra for "white glove" and that wasn't much of service. AM Trucking didn't even have simple wrench to unlatch from pallet. This was unacceptable. 3. Call US Appliance and AM Trucking, and be proactive. They are ZERO help once sale is made. Basically, you get confirmation email that processed your CC sale and AM Trucking company will call one day before delivery date to give you a delivery window. That's it. Okay? Well consider, it's not like UPS or Fed-Ex where you can log onto site and track your order. How do you get status update? Nobody will tell you. Website says you can, but it doesn't work. They said would send tracking number via email but didn't. You gotta call. They're a volume discounter, that's it. They're also from NY, and CS Reps are not helpful. They are not designed for customer service, and culture on phone reflects that. They are rude. They did send my fridge in 7-10 days, but was hassle to call just trying to get status update on order. Again, for a hard drive, not a big deal. But for a fridge? Other thoughtsI believe this is the same company as AJ Madison, just under different name. Looks like they rotate deals between these two sites. They're a volume discounter, and they just sell product. They are located less than 2 miles away from each other in NY. Exact same website layout, use exact same delivery company, return/shipping policies are same, both closed weekends, voice prompts are same, etc, etc.. Read AJ Madison reviews. Overall: The irony? In end, we got product we wanted, it came quickly and at a good price. But still, the process not enjoyable at all and I would likely not buy from them again. This is not a simple purchase online. It's a big ticket item. If their was problems with shipment, my situation would have escalated 10x fold. For me, I'm buying local next time and paying sales tax with honest shipping. I'm paying for pay for peace of mind, and service to compensate if things do go bad. Make sure you do your homework before you purchase. I would not recommend.
