Pros:Individual Ink tanks, clear printing
Cons:Not durable product - defective ink gauge and carriage, not reliable service repair
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend HP Deskjet 2000c. I did not find the machine durable nor was the service repair reliable.
I was happy to get my new HP 2000C printer for home-work use. It worked well initially and I was happy thinking this was a good product. But some 6 months after, the automatic ink detector gauge became faulty. I had just replaced my ink tank and immediately it gave a warning that my new tank was almost empty! I brought it to HP for servicing and they told me it was only my ink that was defective and they asked me to buy another tank - but I demanded that they replace my new ink since it was still under warranty. It was only then that they did. There was still the same error. That convinced them that I was right in saying the printer had a defective gauge. All in all, I spent about 3 months or a quarter of my warranty with my computer going back and forth for service!
Just exactly after a year 9when the warranty lapsed), the printing became dirty and no amount of cleaning printer heads could solve the problem. Again, I brought it to the HP service shop for service. They said it needed cleaning. When they returned it to me after 3 weeks, I noticed there was a new problem that came up which was never there before it was sent for service. The problem now was the computer was very noisy when it was printing, it would stop at the middle of a printing job, and continued to give error such as no printer communication - even if all the cables were in place. Again, I brought it back to the HP service shop. They said that this time, it was dirty?! How could it be - I hardly used it since it came from the shop after the supposed cleaning service. They also said that the cartridge was not properly aligned and if it becomes defective again, I must already change the cartridge. By this HP 2000c printer and the service given to it. Something seems to go wrong every time it is returned to me from servicing.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this printer. Apparently it seems to have good features but my experience will bear me out. Please read this review well and I hope this will help other buyers consider their choice for printers. I am actually trying to look for another printer at this time. I do not find this HP 2000C durable and its accompanying service reliable.
