Dude, congrats for making it this far. Believe it or not, I rememeber when we came up on this site (only a few months apart) and we were reading/rating eachother's reviews... back just after this site's extreme glory days in hits. Glorious times haha.

I thought you would appreciate a little jog in your VH record - remembering the rating wars and how thin skinned so many of us were.
BTW, moving from Hong Kong to Sydney is no small achievement. At one time, the Site would not pay anyone not from the US of A.

OK, You're hardly an old-timer... at least age-wise... but congrats on the 10th year anniverary. Epinions is still a pretty great site in my opinion, hopefully you will enjoy it much as you did in the past.

Hi Jan,
I'll try my best to participate. To be honest, there isn't a graphic novel at my home currently plus an exam is currently beckoning (in exactly 13 days from now!).
I will, however, let you know if I do post something for the writeoff.
By the way, I'm happy that you're still around here and I hope to keep writing!

Yeah, it definitely was sad to hear about Don Krider. Its a reminder that life is so very precious and we cannot take things for granted (I am probably guilty of taking the Epinions community for granted).
I will try my absolute best to keep on writing here (even if real life does not always permit me to do so).

Yeah it's crazy man. Under my Rock_On name it'll be 11 years this December, but I've actually been here for 12 years since around when the site opened and Ptiemann was the biggest writer on the site. I didn't take anything very seriously with that name and so I started fresh with a new name and went from there.

Yep, it flew right by, did it not? Although I've only read and rated the past year and not written reviews (writer's block) I look at the date I started and ask myself "Where did the 11 1/2 years go?"
A lot has happened... good people dropped out and sadly good people have passed away, the recent being Don Krider.
I have remained through it all and I so love being loyal to people on my WOT list because I trusted them for so long. I try every day to go into epinions to read their reviews (and others). Some of course have inactive sites and I wait for a review to pop up...after 7 years I did delete just a few.
Hope to see more of your reviews in the next 10 years. I forgot if you are on my WOT list. Whether you are not, I still got this one and I thank you for sharing it with us.
Happy 10 years even though late!

Congrats on making it 10 years... I hit the 11 year mark in May. It's hard to believe. I started when I was in college, and now I am married with three children.

With the "enjoyable" part, I guess I enjoy the freedom of posting when I want and not worrying about having to post stuff on a nearly daily basis if I don't feel like doing that.
With the good ol' days, I can completely understand where you are coming from. I used to find it funny when people talked about the old times at Eps and I used to think that I wasn't THAT old in comparison. Maybe I'm really THAT old around here too?

P.S. You'd be interested to know that I did have another photo of myself before my current long-standing photo. I just figured that people will remember me by the picture of me with 'that' hair (which has now literally been chopped off).

You've always been a cool guy and one of my favorite reviewers here, even under my old account. I've been here since 2002 (shadesofblue period 2002-2004, thewisefool 2005-2011), so my 10th anniversary would be June of 2012.
Anyway, looking forward to any future reviews from you, and I so relate to this statement you made:
"Other than that, I think I have learnt more about beer here than I have anywhere else on the web."
If it weren't for Chad, John, Bryan, and a few other beer people, I'd probably still be drinking that cheap lager swill. ;)

I just realized I have been here 10 years too, my how time flies! I remember how hard it was to get established here as a reviewer and how long it took to start making a decent return on investmet of my time. Too many people give up in frustration before they are able to do this. Now writing on epinions is second nature and a great source of additional income for me. Congratulations on coming back.
