We currently own a cannon BJC3000. We've had other printers,but this by far is the best. When we went searching for a multifunction machine this played a big part in our decision making. Cannon is top of the line in my book on printing. Good quality and easy use makes Cannon great! Also, the Cannon printers have refillable ink cartridges. They are separate colors , to where even if you didn't refill them you'd only be replacing the one color you're out of and not the whole cartridge. This alone will save you a ton of money on ink.
The only draw back was the price for me. However, we were able to get a rebate and a free shredder. Also, you can't forget the ink cartridges being cheaper and refillable that in turn will save you money in the long run.In shopping other multifunction machines of similar quality were about the same price. If you're looking for quality and reliability I would go with the Cannon.
