Having owned this scanner scene Sept 20 2001 the software upgrades and patches are only now being released for non-EPSON printer support. Problem were manly on the COPY and FAX part of the software, nether worked or worked correctly with XP or ME. Copys were either black or reduced in size. It would not copy to fax without the same problems.

Epson support suggested 1) that it was not their problem but Newsofts software. 2) They told me that if my HP930 would not work, to go buy an Epson printer, the scanner would work with those for sure.
In January a patch came through to work with Windows Me, at this time (May 2002) still poor support for Windows XP and for non-EPSON (my common HP 932) printers on the COPY UTILITY. Patches listed on the NEWSOFT Website are confusing and may or may not work. On a reinstall of the software, the Copy Utility, I hit copy, it gives me an error the no printer is found. No upgrades seems to correct this.
So in short, lack of working software make this a product to avoid if you own anything but an Epson printer. The Copy software is clumsy, a pain to install and needs current XP drivers built and released for other printers and XP and Fax programs. Support from EPSON is laughable. All this time nether company will release this info on the webs sites. You would thing that EPSON would have more control over the Quility of sub-contractors like Newsoft. Next time I buy an HP.
