Pros: Flat screen delivers good picture viewable from any angle
Cons: DVDs are somewhat slow to start; DVD player controls on the remote can be tricky.

Thanks for your comment! There are still many more VHS tapes for small children than DVDs, although that will change soon. If it makes you feel better, look at the prices on Amazon.com or Half.com for VHS and DVD editions of the same movie - often you can buy TWO videos for the same amount as one DVD, and I have done this for a couple of videos that I knew in advance would wear out, or get "borrowed" by others and not returned.

My in-laws bought a tv/vcr combo for my newborn 2 1/2 years ago. We are converting the videos to DVD's since we had a neighbor view the videos so much they are becoming damaged. I wish I could have given this to them to read! She is just now to the point that she wants to watch her tv. By the way, she has only put one cookie in it :)! They didn't buy an extended warranty either!

Great review!
