Local Coverage:
Pros:Good service locally and in major markets.
Cons:Lack of coverage in rural areas and spots in NOVA.
The Bottom Line: Local coverage is nearly complete and usually clear. If you never need to use a cell phone in remote areas, Nextel will suit your needs.
I have a corporate phone with Nextel national service.
The Good:
They provide coverage in most major markets. The service is usually very clear. There is no echo or feedback that I get with my personal cell phone.
The Bad:
My position requires that I be in constant touch with our organization including during vacations. As a skier, my vacations are typically in rural mountainous areas. This year I was in Steamboat Springs, Bozeman, and Telluride. I was not able to use my Nextel phone in any of these areas although other people had cell phone service.
There are some holes at home as well. I can't use it at my home near Springfield Mall.
